Hiroyuki Sakai, known as the “IRON CHEF FRENCH” started his career at the age of 17 in Osaka, Japan. He spent a year and half in Australia to get practical training & opened his own restaurant “LA ROCHELLE” in Aoyama, Tokyo. He received an award of GRADE DE CHEVALIER DANS LE ORDRE DU MERITE AGRICOLE from French Republic in year 2005, awarded Contemporary Master Craftsman from Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2009. Chef Sakai is also known for his illustrious winning record in the POPULAR JAPANESE TELEVISION PROGRAM called the “IRON CHEF”. The television show became global hit spawning spin-off versions and is still being broadcast on SBS 2 4.05pm weekdays. Around the world along with his appearance in TV, he was also given the honour of preparing the dinner for the G7 (Group of Seven: the meeting of the finance ministers from a group of seven industrialized nations) held in Tokyo on January 2000. His culinary creations is also described as a DELACROIX OF FRENCH CUISINE.
