Born in 1979 Tokyo, Chen Kentaro is the grandson of Chen Kenmin, known as the father of introducing Szechuan cuisine in japan, and the son of Chen Kenichi, the Iron chef. After the employment at Akasaka Shisenhanten Restaurant, he travels to Sichuan sheng , Chengdu city in 2005 to learn and study the local Szechuan cuisine at restaurant (Cai Gen Xiang). Once returning to Japan, he took the role as Shisenhanten’s third generation and while based in Akasaka Shisenhanten, he has contributed and appeared in wide range of events through media. In 2014 he succeeded in opening the first over sea Shisenhanten restaurant in Singapore.
